Moyglare House is a magnificent mid-eighteenth century country house, situated 1.5km north of Moyglare village on the borders of Counties Meath and Kildare, just 2km from Maynooth, County Kildare.
Currently, the property is undergoing extensive renovations to return the house to its former splendour, dressing each room in decorative antiques, furniture and paintings. Moyglare House provides visitors with a taste of the many respective periods through which the house was remodelled; from 1764 to the Irish Regency Period.
Around the turn of the 18th century the hall underwent extensive remodelling, producing ornate plasterwork entirely unique to Moyglare House.
Moyglare House is open to the public between 9AM and 1PM on each of the days listed below. Private group tours with a minimum of 10 guests are also welcome outside the times listed; by appointment only. Tours of the house are given by Dr. Angela Alexander, the foremost academic on Dublin cabinet makers from the Irish Regency period.
